Hey, Mommas!

My name is Mercedes Eckman and I am the proud owner of The Leaky Momma in Lexington, Kentucky. For the past four years I have been a home-baker working directly out of my own kitchen, baking up some of the finest and freshest lactation cookies in central Kentucky! Just recently I have announce a brand new brick and mortar location on the iconic Southland Drive in Lexington where I will be able to bake, serve and ship all of my lactation treats! Baked with proven milk-making ingredients, my cookies will give any nursing/pumping mother that boost they've been searching for!

I am a mom of three, a firefighter wife, and a Kentucky Proud business woman! When I had my second son, I wanted to be prepared for future supply drops so I started making lactation cookies for myself. After seeing how well they worked, my husband gave me the crazy idea to start making them for other moms and I hit the ground running with no plan in mind. One month later, The Leaky Momma was born!

I started out with one flavor and a handful of very curious moms and now I’ve had a total of 27 original and seasonal flavors that are constantly changing! I even have a certified dairy free option! While baking from home, I sold primarily at the Lexington Farmers Market and from social media providing porch pickups and deliveries. I sold on average, thirty-five dozen milkies per week to local mommas and loyal customers all around central Kentucky!

Starting in the summer of 2024, when my storefront opens, I will finally be able to ship my goodies all over the United States while still maintaining the highest quality products and personable interactions through my storefront.

I stand by my cookies 1000% and have complete confidence in my product because I know first hand how well they work.

There is no one else around that serves a unique milk making product like myself in the state of Kentucky and I take the utmost pride in that!
